In March 2020 Innovative Tooling Solutions commissioning engineers installed there 3rd tool in to a major USA airlines maintenance and repair facility.
The end user has added to their existing manufacturing capabilities by investing in the ITS CH16 Contouring Head – this tool will sit alongside the company’s CH8 and ITS CBS S30 purchased in previous years. The CH16 is a Contouring / Facing Head which will be used on the customers Giddings & Lewis Horizontal Boring Machine. The tool will be used to machine a range of features which include facing, boring and threading operations.
The components being manufactured with the ITS Tooling System will be aircraft landing gears. The landing gear is an essential system that allows the aircraft to start from the gate, taxi to the runway, to take off and to land safely. Aircraft landing gear supports the entire weight of an aircraft during landing and ground operations. Some of the aircraft the ITS CH16 will manufacture landing gear for are Boeing 737NG, Boeing 757, Boeing 767, MD-88 and MD-90.
ITS has built a good relationship with the end user and will continue to support them with there tools going forward. The end user intends to keep building on there ITS product portfolio and we expect to be providing more new tools to them in the future.
